Tomorrow is a Chance to Start Over – New Children's Book/Album

12.04.2014 / Hello Winter!

CBC

And just like that – in a blink – it’s December!!

Oh the adventures we’ve had! We played over 20 shows across Eastern Canada this fall from Toronto to Halifax and had our hearts filled to the brim with jaw droppingly beautiful multi-coloured autumn views and a seemingly endless supply of kindness and generosity. Thank you to everyone who helped me bring my new record ‘Come & Go’ to the fine folks of the east coast and everyone who made this tour a special one I won’t soon forget. I feel so grateful that music takes me to all the nooks and crannies of this amazing country.

Because Christa Couture and I both have no lack of slow, love-lorn, emotional songs, we jokingly decided  to call this tour ‘The Battle of the Ballads’ but truthfully the vibe of our tour could be described as anything but – we had a delightfully light-hearted time. This was my second Canadian tour with my husband Mike along for the ride and I’m fond of saying, because it’s true, that I am truly spoiled for life after having toured with him this past year. He’s always there with a smile and a helping hand, plus I enjoyed the added bonus of playing my shows with him since he also happens to be a fantastic musician. Lucky me!

We were thrilled to play several cozy house concerts on this tour and they’re always such special shows, so I thought I would share a clip from one of our favourites called Stonecroft Folk in Ingersoll, Ontario: http://youtu.be/QsT7AoHHNzs

What’s in store for 2015? Well, more touring I hope and then the release of another brand new record – my children’s book/music project. More details on that project to come I promise! What are your dreams for 2015?

In other holiday cheer related news, this Friday I’ll be playing a couple of songs on CBC’s On The Coast for their 27th Annual Food Bank Drive & Open House. Tune in to 88.1fm between 4-5pm and you might catch me crooning away on a couple of Christmas ditties. You might even feel inspired to donate to their meaningful charity.

Take care out there and I’m wishing you love and warmth as we head into the chilly months. As for me, I think it’s time for a long winter’s nap…
